Poster Meets People – Anfachen Award X on the Theme of “Justice” Takes to the Streets
From 3 June 2026 onwards, the winning posters of Anfachen Award X will be displayed at vari-ous public locations across Hamburg, illustrating contemporary and international perspectives on justice. In addition, a poster campaign on the opening day will encourage direct and contro-versial exchanges between art and the public.
From 3 June 2026 onwards, they will be impossible to miss: the winning posters of the Hamburg-based Anfachen Award X on the theme of “Justice.” The works will be exhibited at prominent locations including Kennedy Bridge, Binnenalster, behind the Central Station and next to Reesendamm Bridge. Through their artistic diversity and large scale, the 25 selected posters vi-vidly reveal where justice is under pressure, absent or successfully upheld. Sometimes painfully,
sometimes humorously, they expose how unequally access to health, happiness, prosperity and power is distributed.

in their approach to the assigned topic of “Gerechtigkeit/Justice“. We accept photographic, paint-based, graphic and typographic works. Participation is subject to the following conditions:
PUBLIC
iThe best 25 posters will be selected by an international jury and then displayed on billboards in Hamburg. They confront the public on busy streets and highly frequented public places to become the subject of discussion and reflection, encouraging a broad and long-lasting debate on the subject of “Gerechtigkeit/Justice“.
BORDERLESS
The selected posters will initially characterise the streets of Hamburg for four weeks from June 2026, but will then go on tour. They will be seen in other German cities and will also cause a stir internationally. Therefore, if language plays a role in the design, a German and an English version must be submitted.
